Consulting Services for Your Architectural Design Projects
At Equitable Access, we offer a comprehensive range of accessibility consulting services. Our experts ensure your designs meet Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) and ADA guidelines. We provide guidance and support throughout the design and construction process, from initial concept development to final inspection. Andy Castillo leads our expert team. He is a licensed Registered Accessibility Specialist (San Antonio RAS). Our team supports you through the registration, TAS Plan Review, and Inspection processes, ensuring your project is fully compliant and accessible.
Project Registration Made Easy
Regarding project registration, Equitable Access makes it easy for you. We handle the whole process, from submitting your project to holding registration through the Texas Architectural Barriers Online System (TABS). The cost for this service is a flat fee of $50. To get started, simply fill out Form (EAB-205N) and send it to us by email. Alternatively, you can register for your project on the TDLR website. The site is at www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS. We understand that navigating the registration process can be daunting, but we’re here to make it as smooth and straightforward as possible.
Registration Requirements
- A user account in TABS with a valid email address
- Registering costs $175, and late registration costs $300. The Comptroller’s website allows you to pay with a credit card, but the fee is non-refundable.
Expert Plan Review Services
Our consultants provide TAS Plan Review and Inspection services. A TAS Plan Review ensures your project meets all accessibility rules and guidelines. During this process, we review your construction documents and guide you on adding accessible design features. We also work with landscape architects to ensure that outdoor spaces are accessible. Our goal is to help you create designs that are both beautiful and inclusive. After the plan review, we conduct a thorough inspection to ensure the project has been implemented and meets all the necessary standards.
Plan Review Requirements
- Submit construction documents electronically or by hand. This includes a Proof of Submission form (EAB-242N).
- The page confirms the Elimination of Architectural Barriers (EAB). It has a TABS number.
- Owner Agent Designation Form (EAB-243N), if applicable.
- Payment for plan review fee based on the project’s scope.
Thorough Accessibility Inspections
Equitable Access conducts thorough inspections. They check that your project meets TAS and ADA standards. Our San Antonio RAS will inspect within 30 days of substantial completion and provide a detailed report with findings and recommendations.
Inspection Requirements
- Request for Inspection Form (EAB-241N) submitted within 30 days of substantial completion.
- Owner or Owner Agent must be present and sign Form (EAB-244N).
- Inspection Response Form (EAB-229N) to be completed and returned if violations are found.
